Because there is such a shortage of youth and young adults entering the construction industry. The construction companies realize that they have to become more diverse if they want to survive and compete in the future.
NSTN’s NCCER Accredited Trades Training summer program students had the opportunity to visit a construction site yesterday July 28th 2023. As you well know, minority youth and young adults don’t get this opportunity often, if ever. Also, if they pursue construction careers now, they will become the new leaders in the construction industry. Also, possibly starting their own business in the future.
NSTN wants to thank Elford Construction in Columbus, Ohio for welcoming our, NCCER training summer program students to their corporate facility. And then allowing the students to visit their Rumpke Building job site. Elford Construction’s main them for the trainees was Safety on the job and that they need a new generation to enter construction industry careers.
And that their main criteria for employment is showing up, being on time and willing to work and learn. If you have some training the better. The more you learn the quicker you advance.
They offer union prevailing wages, benefits and retirement package.
